What do the new zero-emission zones mean for our services?
Starting January 1, 2025, many Dutch cities will implement zero-emission zones. This means that only emission-free vehicles (such as electric vehicles) will be allowed to operate within these zones.
A transition period applies to vehicles with Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines. Fortunately, exemptions are in place for these vehicles, allowing them temporary access to the zones. All our vehicles are equipped with Euro 6 engines.
How do the rules for Euro 6 vehicles work?
Our Euro 6 vehicles are temporarily permitted in zero-emission zones, depending on their type and age. Below, we explain the rules:
Delivery vans (small vehicles):
Delivery vans are allowed in zero-emission zones until December 31, 2027.
Box trucks (medium-sized trucks):
Trucks that are no more than 8 years old on January 1, 2025, are permitted in zero-emission zones until December 31, 2027. Trucks that are no more than 5 years old on January 1, 2025, are permitted in zero-emission zones until December 31, 2029.
Semi-trucks (large trucks with trailers):
Semi-trucks that are no more than 8 years old on January 1, 2025, are permitted in zero-emission zones until December 31, 2029.
We move forward
Our fleet meets these new regulations, but we go further. We continuously invest in sustainability:
All our fuel-powered vehicles run on HVO100, a more environmentally friendly fuel made from biomass.
Our plug-in hybrid truck: This vehicle can operate entirely emission-free in zero-emission zones. It’s also flexible for longer distances, running on biofuel without requiring charging breaks or hubs.
Electric vehicles: We are steadily expanding our fleet of electric vehicles, particularly for smaller transport jobs.
