SUSTAINABILITY

Benefit future generations by reducing our ecological footprint

Transport and logistics in the art industry have impact on our environment. We are determined to embed sustainability in every step of our operation. Our vision is not only to protect the environment but also to contribute to a sustainable future for art logistics. We have made significant strides in sustainability and decarbonization, focusing on housing, transport, and packaging materials.

We adhere to the guidelines outlined in CSRD (Corporate Social Responsibility Disclosure): We aim to be transparent in our efforts for corporate social responsibility, with sustainability and decarbonization as core components of our business strategy. We operate according to the GHG protocol (Greenhouse Gas): Our continuous pursuit of emission reduction contributes to reducing our total greenhouse gas emissions, leading to a positive impact on the environment and climate change.

Housing

Our company premises, offices, and art depot, operational since April 2022, showcase energy-saving features. Completely gas-free and equipped with sustainable solutions for heat retention and energy use, such as electric air heat pumps and water-driven electric heating. Compartmentalization and a smart lock reduce heat loss by 20%, enabling better climate control indoors.

Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions: Transitioning to a gas-free facility significantly reduced our direct CO2 emissions (scope 1). Utilizing sustainable energy sources also led to a substantial decrease in our indirect emissions (scope 2). Additionally, we focused on sustainable housing and location choices to minimize emissions in our supply chain (scope 3).

Transport

In freight transportation, we emphasize reducing emissions, logistical efficiency, and CO2 offsetting. By making conscious choices in transportation methods—air freight, sea freight, or rail transport—and through efficient planning (combined transports and optimized loading), we aim to reduce CO2 emissions. For truck transports have opted for hybrid technology, allowing us to travel long distances on (bio)fuel while driving emission-free in environmental zones and cities. This not only minimizes our ecological footprint but also ensures the safe transportation of art objects without unnecessary risks.

For corporate commuting and passenger transport, we focus on 100% electric driving.

Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions: Our transport-related emissions (scope 1) are minimized by using vehicles with lower emissions and implementing hybrid and full electric models. Opting for efficient transportation methods reduces indirect emissions (scope 2). Furthermore, we aim to decrease emissions across the entire supply chain (scope 3) by collaborating with suppliers committed to sustainable practices.

Packaging materials

Our packaging materials prioritize sustainability, following the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle. We utilize recyclable, recycled materials, and promote reuse. High-quality climate-controlled crates, tailored to artworks, increasingly replace wooden crates, resulting in a 70% reduction in crate production.

Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions: The reduction of our packaging materials and the transition to more sustainable alternatives significantly reduce our direct emissions (scope 1). The use of recycled and reusable materials decreases indirect emissions (scope 2) and contributes to a lower ecological footprint in our supply chain and among stakeholders in the world of art logistics (scope 3).

While we continue to prioritize high-quality and secure art transportation, we embrace our responsibility towards future generations. Curious about how we align with the goals within your organization? Get in touch with us!
