our SUSTAINABLE APPROACH
Art transportation and logistics have an impact on the environment, we are well aware of that. Our ambition is not only to protect the environment, but also to actively contribute to a more sustainable future for art logistics. We focus on three main areas: housing, transportation and packaging materials.
Frameworks - GHG and CSRD
We follow the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) protocol to reduce our emissions and work according to the Corporate Social Responsibility Disclosure (CSRD) guidelines. Here we distinguish between three types of emissions (scopes):
• Scope 1: Direct emissions from our own operations, such as our gas and fuel consumption.
• Scope 2: Indirect emissions, such as the energy we purchase.
• Scope 3: Emissions in the supply chain, such as from suppliers and partners.
Here are some examples of our efforts to reduce our carbon emissions.
Housing: energy-saving and gas-free
Our offices and art depot, in operation since 2022, are completely gasless and energy efficient. This significantly reduces our direct CO2 emissions (scope 1). Thanks to smart compartmentalization and lock operation, we limit heat loss, which helps us manage the indoor climate in an energy-efficient manner.
Transportation: hybrid and efficient
Our hybrid vehicles run emission-free in environmental zones and use biofuels for long distances, minimizing our direct emissions (scope 1). We also optimize trips and consolidate transports to reduce CO2 emissions. By using advanced transportation software, we can combine multiple jobs efficiently, further reducing our impact.
Packaging materials: reduce, reuse and recycle
Our packaging strategies focus on reducing, reusing and recycling. Adjustable climate crates, which largely replace the use of wooden crates, reduce our direct emissions (scope 1). In addition, we deliberately choose local suppliers of packaging materials, which helps to reduce our supply chain emissions (scope 3).
